Using The App

TAKING NOTES

Opening Notes: Tap the + to add a new note, or tap an existing note to get into it.

Navigating: When you are editing or reading notes you can swipe between them using the arrow buttons on the bottom or by swiping to the next note.

Note Date: Notes are automatically assigned the date they were created on, but you can change the note date by tapping on it - great for those notes that keep going over time.

Reminders: Tap the clock icon to set a reminder on a specific note. When the reminder comes up on your device, the app will open the relevant note.

Undo Delete: if you delete a note then it is gone. We don't have any access to your data so we cannot retrieve it for you.

RECORDING

Recording: Start recording inside a note by tapping the microphone icon. You can stop and continue again as many times as you want, by tapping the icon again. New recording segments will be automatically added at the end of the recording.

Typing: You can record and type at the same time, and also while you listen to your recording.

Time Stamp Feature: When you’re making a recording or listening to one, tap the keyboard. A stamp icon will appear that will mark the current location of your recording in your note.

Voice To Text: The app itself does not convert voice to text, but if you have a device with Siri on it, you can use the device's built-in functionality on the keyboard. Just tap the recorder icon on the keyboard and dictate.

Recording Time Limit: There is no limit on recording length. Just make sure you have enough power and space on your device. The app takes about 30Mb / Hour of recording (or in other words - about 0.5Mb per minute)

Recording Formats / Converting to MP3
The app supports AIFF format for the recording files. This is the highest quality format and it's playable on any computer. To play the audio files, we recommend iTunes. If you want MP3 you can use http://media.io/ in order to convert ‘.aif’ to any other music file easily (there are many other online services and software to help you with this as well)

Edit an audio file after recording
The app is meant for recording and capturing, but not for editing audio or images. However, you can easily do this on your computer after you've downloaded your recording. There are many software packages that can help you with this.

ORGANIZING

Sorting: Above the note list you can choose notes to be sorted alphabetically, by date, or by category by tapping on the option you want.

Search: Pull down the note list to reveal the search bar. Type in any text - the app searches through all your notes and gives you instant results.

Categories: You can change a note's category by tapping the pullout tab (white triangle) on the right side of your note and tapping a new category.

Customizing Categories: You can change any category name by going to Settings and tapping on the name.

PLAYBACK

Playback Bar: Tap the little pull-down tab at the top of your note to expose the recording & photo bar. If you're using an iPad this bar opens automatically.

Typing: Yes, no problem. Type as much as you want while you listen. Take notes. Go wild and add time stamps (top right on the keyboard).

Not loud enough?
We use the device’s top-quality recording. Please check that your volume is all the way up while the audio is playing, and please make sure the device does not have any covers (like a misfitted case) that are blocking the device’s microphones. Except for that, all that can be done is to either use an external microphone (which you can attach to your device) or bring the device closer to what you want to record.

FF / RW
You can move around quickly in a recording by holding down the FastForward or Rewind button.

Can't play
Check the following:
1- This might be a memory issue - Did you try making sure you don't have too many apps open in the background?
2- Maybe it's not being recorded right - in your Device Settings --> Privacy --> Microphone, make sure the app is allowed to use it
3- If this is not it - please try downloading the file via WiFi and then playing it on your computer.

PHOTOS

Taking Photos: You can add photos to your note by hitting the camera icon at the top of your note. All photos will be stored inside the app and not in your device’s camera roll.

Adding Library Photos: Tap the camera icon at the top of your note’s screen, choose Library and select your photos. They will be copied to the app and still be saved in your device’s camera roll.
The app stores its own copy of photos, so deleting a photo from the app will not affect your library, and vice versa.

Selection / Viewing: Tap to reveal the playback bar at the top of the note, then tap the rectangle on the left side of the recording to reveal your photos.

Viewing Photos: Your photos are in the play/photo bar inside the note. If you're using an iPhone/iPod hit the little pull-down tab to expose the play/photo bar. Slide left or right to switch between recordings/photos. On the iPad, the bar will be automatically exposed and photos and recordings will be all on the same bar.

TIPS & TRICKS

Fast Forward or Rewind Slide: During playback, touch the playback location marker and slide it back and forth instead of using the fast forward and rewind buttons.

Playback Skimming: Hold down the NEXT button to skip forward at 10 times the normal speed. Great for those long recordings where it’s difficult to find your exact place.

Time Stamp Feature: When you’re making a recording or listening to one, tap the keyboard. A stamp icon will appear that will mark the current location of your recording in your note.

Date of Note: Dates are set automatically but you can change the date by tapping on it.

PASSCODE

Enabling/Disabling passcode: In the app’s settings. (This option is available in the premium version)

A note on passcode: This locks your app, but your data is not encrypted. This means that if your device is stolen and cracked, your data will then be visible.
